Edward Interviews: Julia
Edward recently dove back into his series of interviewing people around the L’Arche St. Louis Community, this time sitting down with Julia, to talk about her time with L’Arche, her hobbies, and her new role as Quality Coordinator! Julia has been with L’Arche St. Louis for several years, spending most of her time at Joyful House, and is now in our office, ensuring that our Community has what it needs to continue providing the highest quality of support. Check out her recent conversation with Edward!
Edward: What is your favorite color?
Julia: I think blue, but maybe green depending on the day.
Edward: What are your hobbies?
Julia: I like to go on hikes or walks when the weather is nice. I’ve been trying to play tennis more. I think hanging out with my cat is probably a hobby now!
Edward: How do you like L’Arche St. Louis?
Julia: I really like L’Arche. I’ve been here for about four years. I recently got to talk to some college students about L’Arche and I think any time I do that I remember how fun the community is here.
Edward: How do you like working at the office?
Julia: It’s been a change from being in the house all the time, but it’s been really fun to get to see more of the other two houses I hadn’t gotten to spend as much time with. Getting to see people I didn’t get to work with as much and getting to know everyone at the office, and I still get to spend time at Joyful House.
Edward: What is your role at L’Arche St. Louis?
Julia: It’s a lot of whatever is needed, depending on the week. I jump in on projects that Maria is working on or do stuff with the House Leaders. I’ve gotten to spend time at the houses, work on adaptive equipment, and be at the strategic planning committee. I’ve done some work with the Gateway Coalition of Service Providers. I’m learning about advocacy. It’s a mixed bag of things! I still get to hang out with the Joyful House ladies once a week, which is cool.
Edward: Keep up the good work, and if you have any questions for me I’m here at the office on Mondays! Thank you for working for us.
Julia: Thanks for interviewing me! It’s been fun to work with you.
