Breaking Ground

Today is the day! Work has officially begun on the fourth L’Arche St. Louis home! Mother Nature gave us enough of a break so the team at Compass Design + Build could get to work.

A few weeks ago, we held a groundbreaking ceremony with Core Members, staff, Board members, and our local Brentwood officials. Mayor David Dimmitt shared about the importance of growing inclusive community like L’Arche in the City of Brentwood. Jen Marcus, the Co-Chair for the Everyone Belongs Campaign and whose sister lives at L’Arche St. Louis, talked about the impact this home will have on four new core members and their families. Finally, Board Member Fr. Len Kraus, SJ blessed the ground, then everyone used their golden shovels to dig in!

Paula shared more about this new project, a home where adults with intellectual disabilities can age in place surrounded by the beautiful Brentwood neighborhood.
