We stand in solidarity.

L’Arche St. Louis celebrates the unique value of every human being, regardless of ability and regardless of race. We stand in solidarity with the people of color in our homes, in our community, in our city, and in our nation.

A member of the L’Arche community in Atlanta shared these words, integrating the L’Arche vision of a world where everyone has a place at the table with the turmoil of racial injustice: “Right now, our communities are home for those who are most affected by injustice and inequality; friends who are black, are people of color, have disabilities, and have experienced not belonging. Friends who are amazing, integral, and invaluable parts of our communities. I want to say, we see you. Black lives matter. Black futures matter. Black communities matter. Black families matter. You and I belong together at this table, and if you are not here, it is because we have not yet tried hard enough to welcome you. We, who are part of such a beautiful community, should all be raising our voices to join every protest against injustice, against inhumanity, against silence. Because we already deeply understand that we need each other, we belong together, we love and struggle together. That is how we are transformed.”

Please join us in praying for an end to the brokenness in our systems, our ways of thinking, and in our world. As a community, we pray that we would find ways to be a place of welcoming and belonging even in this time of distancing.
