Edward’s Interviews: Intern Ella
Edward, resident of St. James House, wears many hats in the L’Arche St. Louis Community. Besides being our Chief People Officer and working many of our recruitment events, Edward works in the office every Monday and also, most recently, has picked up the task of leading ongoing interviews with L’Arche assistants, Board members, friends, and everyone who builds our Community.
To launch his most recent endeavor, Edward interviewed all four of our Summer Interns this year! Here’s his interview with Ella, a Joyful House Intern. Check it out!
How do you like Joyful House?
I like it! All the ladies are different in their own ways. Ellyse and Julia are both also soccer fans, like me.
Where are you from?
Sheboygan, Wisconsin, about an hour north of Milwaukee.
What’s your favorite color?
I’ve been liking yellow recently.
What are your hobbies?
I really like playing ultimate frisbee. Outside of that, I do a lot of reading.
Do you like biking?
I don’t have a bike here but when I’m at home I like to bike.
What do you do when you aren’t working?
A lot of my friends have become my frisbee team mates, so we play a lot of frisbee. But yesterday we went peach picking at Eckert’s! It was hot but pretty fun.
Do you ever play pickleball?
Yes, we like to go to Tower Grove to play pickleball.
Had you ever been to St. Louis before?
No, I just came down to St. Louis for college.
Which school?
St. Louis University.
Do you like to go to the movies or out to eat?
Yeah, my friends and I went to see Despicable Me 4 last week.
Do you like to go out of town?
I don’t go out of St. Louis a lot. If I do, it’s to go back home or traveling for frisbee.
Do you like baseball?
I haven’t been to a Cardinals game yet. I’ve been to Ballpark Village, but I haven’t been to Busch Stadium yet.
What kind of music do you like?
I like basic top 40 stuff like Taylor Swift and Chappell Roan, and I also like indie, outdoorsy, granola stuff like Noah Kahan and Hozier and the like. One of the stations in my car is set to the country station, but more like the pop country stuff.
