From Assistant to Board Member!
This interview is a continuation of Chip’s, “Get to Know Our Board Members,” series! This time, he talked with Board member Jason. Jason first came to L’Arche St. Louis as a live-out Assistant way back in our early years! Learn more about him from Chip’s questions below!
Why did you join the L'Arche Board?
I wanted to stay involved and help the way I could since I can't help with daily life anymore. I always want L'Arche to be a part of my life.
How did you first get involved with L'Arche?
I heard about it when I was working with kids with disabilities with the AmeriCorps program.
What L'Arche homes did you work at?
I was at Sunrise before it was called Sunrise since it was the only home at that time.
Where do you work now?
Veterans Administration
How old is your daughter?
My daughter Penelope is six and half years old!
What hobbies do you have?
Hockey, concerts, reading, music, movies
Where are you from?
I'm from St. Louis.
What is your favorite trip you've taken?
I recently went to Hawaii. I've also been to South America.
Do you have pets?
I've got a dog named Maya who is 8.
What is your favorite sports team?
St. Louis Blues!
What is your favorite dessert?
Birthday cake flavored ice cream
